The name "Famml" is derived from FamiTone, the audio driver it specifically targets, which of course is derived from Famicom. It would've been "FamiMML", but I felt there were too many m's.
It could be expanded to target more systems than merely FamiTone, much the same as it does with assembly output. If this were done, the tie to FamiTone would be a little unnecessary. It could target far more systems, but remain an MML translator for producing chiptunes.
Results don't come up immediately for "chipper mml", so I'm considering the name "chipper". So I think I'll call it that privately. However, it will not get this name in the repository until it is a very, very well functioning program. So for now, it will remain "Famml", which I hate, as an incentive to keep working on it.
