Can you type in:

git clone https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware --depth=1

and report output.

got the same issue:

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ git clone https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware --depth=1
Cloning into 'rpi-firmware'...
error: Failed connect to github.com:443; No route to host while accessing https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/info/refs
fatal: HTTP request failed

I've uptaded the pi yesteraday without problem, now I've rebooted and it seems to be impossible to go on the internet:

ping www.google.it

@Summer88
If you can't ping google it is not an rpi-update issue.

Seems like a problem with your local network or internet.
May be better asked on the forum. Include information about whether this is wired or wireless.
