After doing the commands:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install ca-certificates
sudo wget http://goo.gl/1BOfJ -O /usr/bin/rpi-update && sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/rpi-update
sudo apt-get install git-core
The process is stuck at Receiving Objects.
I get this every other day
So you're saying I should try later again today?
And if I get stuck on Receiving Objects, how do I close the SSH connection safely through my Cygwin and Pi? (Not sure if it's 'healthy' to have it shutdown when it gets stuck..)
Thanks for replying
I just CTRL-C to kill git and retry. Don't close the SSH session, it's not needed. I usually run a ping github.com in another session from the RPi thinking it might help (placebo?).
As this issue is more than 1½ year old it must have been fixed and the issue is stalled. This should be closed.
This issue JUST occurred for me :( on a Raspberry Pi B+
not sure what to do, trying to get my HiFi Berry installed
