<problem>The rasterization testing cannot be continued due to an error in the font. Before completing rasterization testing, you will need to identify and fix this error, using details provided.<BR><BR>If exception errors continue after you have changed the font data, please contact the Microsoft Typography group.
<p>
This message can happen on MS Windows with FontVal 2.0 when testing fonts within non-English file names,
with the detail " Cannot marshal: Encountered unmappable character. "
This is a known limitation of SharpFont on Windows ( https://github.com/Robmaister/SharpFont/issues/89 ).
Try renaming or copy the file with an English name and re-test.
<p>
Bitmap-only fonts, such as Apple Color Emoji.ttf, which are designed for only some specific pixel sizes,
may result in
" FreeType error: Invalid pixel size. "
when testing for sizes which they are not designed for.
Under this circumstance, this message is harmless and can be ignored.
The older FontVal 1.0 and 1.1 shows " Secure Rasterizer error: Function out of range " as well as E6016 "FDEF out of range"
for Apple Color Emoji.ttf.
That may or may not be related.
<p>
In the old FontVal 1.0, error A6000,
"Secure Rasterizer error: Function out of range" can accompany E6016 "FDEF out of range",
A6000 "Secure Rasterizer error: TrueType stack overflow" can accompany E6045 "Stack Overflow",
A6000 "Secure Rasterizer error: Storage index out of range" can accompany E6047 "Storage index out of range",
depending on where the E6016, E6045 and E6047 errors happen. Font designers should address these other errors first.
<p>
Running FontVal 1.0 (and perhaps 2.0 too) under wine can occasionally result in error A6000, "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." . This is intermittent and a problem with wine. Users should simply re-run.
