Currently the exercises are thrown together in a bit of an ad hoc way and are just sort of "everything we could think of", including some stuff that we just didn't want to write out proofs of ourselves. For using the book as a textbook or for independent study, it would be ideal if the exercises of each chapter, and the order they appear in, were chosen carefully to lead the reader through greater understanding. We can add exercises to the first edition as we think of them, but for the second edition maybe we can think more carefully about selecting good exercises and putting them in a good order. It might also be nice to indicate somehow which exercises can be done after reading which sections of the chapter.
