Same problem here. I even installed MacTeX 2012 to see if this was the problem. No luck. I will try compiling from source.
Trying to update to 2.23, I'm getting texinfo.tex appears to be broken while building docs. I added the dep, MacPorts has this too, but that alone isn't letting texi2dvi work.

Ah, I need to get it to use the bin from the keg-only texinfo instead of the Snow Leopard provided one.
Updated from TexLive 2010 TexLive 2012, and it works with 2.23; will push an update.
Updated to 2.23 in b1e2f00 and tested on Snow Leopard. There may still be install weirdness, but please open new issues for this. Thanks.
