I have a new laptop that has nothing on it outside of being updated to OS X 10.7.3, XCode 4.3, and the CommandLine Tools from XCode 4.3 as well.

The gist of the output is here.

I've gone as far as reinstall brew, but since this is a brand-new laptop, it doesn't have any of the baggage of previous installs for me to think there's something weird going on. I'm guessing it's related to the CLI tool/XCode split, but I don't know how to fix it.

You need to use --use-llvm to build redis currently, until we can annotate formula as failing with clang.

There are also fixes for this sitting in the upstream Hiredis repo. The need to get pulled over to Redis and a new release needs to be made.

excellent, the --use-llvm flag works dandy. Should I try this out for other failed installs like macvim and go?
