So, for example, when the latest MySQL is installed to /usr/local/Cellar/mysql/5.5.25a it would create a symlink from /usr/local/cellar/mysql/current.
This has been proposed and may be the case for Homebrew 2 but currently there is too much code that assumes otherwise. We have something similar in Library/LinkedKegs; hopefully that will suffice for now. Sorry!
Thanks for the response. I understand if the topic that's already been discussed and triaged, but out of curiosity, if /usr/local/Cellar/mysql/5.5.25a/ is still there then what kind of problems does /usr/local/Cellar/mysql/current/ also being there cause?
It will appear to all code that enumerates kegs that the version "current" is installed.
Ahhh, problematic indeed...
