There is no log file!! log files were generated for brew install wget, which was successful, but only an empty folder "fontforge" appears in ~/Library/Logs/Homebrew
I have an alias for git:
alias git='xcrun git'
as per recommendations in http://www.cocoanetics.com/2012/07/you-dont-need-the-xcode-command-line-tools/
but I had the same trouble before I removed the command line tools and used this alias.
I don't understand Doctor's complaint about a terminal / in my PATH, I don't see it, but that situation too changed during this long experimental installation attempt, and the symptoms didn't change.
brew link fontforge should tell you which file can't be linked.
brew link fontforge
I would do sudo rm -rf /usr/local/include/fontforge and then brew link fontforge.
sudo rm -rf /usr/local/include/fontforge
Did you sudo brew install or install a .pkg or otherwise get root-owned stuff in /usr/local?
sudo brew install
If you want to install with Homebrew, you'll need to track all this down; you could always blanket chown all of /usr/local recursively to your user, though I can't comment on how that might otherwise affect your system.
Ok; you can either try sudo chown -R <you> /usr/local or go one-by-one with brew link to find the files with bad permissions.
sudo chown -R <you> /usr/local
If you have for instance MySQL installed in /usr/local, changing permissions in a blanket way may break stuff.
