MacbookPro 2011, wanted to update brew, but cannot install git:

$ brew install git

Run brew doctor. Are you using FileVault or a custom SSD setup?

Good spot, sir! I'm using a custom SSD setup with a ramdisk for /private/tmp. git installed successfully after

mkdir $HOME/tmp
export HOMEBREW_TEMP=$HOME/tmp
