Built every night from git HEAD.

Would it make sense to use the git HEAD, rather than a zip taken from git HEAD?

As the build process is quite complex and depends on javacc and maven, I guess its more reasonable to use the precompiled nightly release.

If compiling is preferred anyway, I will have a closer look at ho elasticsearch and gremlin are building from their git HEADS using maven, but probably not before weekend.

We have some other Java software that builds with mvn.

Search the Formula folder for mvn to find examples where we compile from Java source. Passing on this for now since we don't use tarballs for head (or at least, it is against policy.)

BaseX is only partially built using maven, important parts (bundling of start scripts, ...) is done in a perl script only running on windows. We will either have to use the tarball or not have --HEAD at all.
