This pull request, indeed, fixes #18998 👍

However, adding the "--cross-compile-common" flag leaves behind a rather odd directory structure:

% ls /usr/local/Cellar/go
1.1.beta2 1.1beta2
% ls /usr/local/Cellar/go/1.1beta2/
AUTHORS INSTALL_RECEIPT.json PATENTS VERSION bin etc lib pkg share test
CONTRIBUTORS LICENSE README api doc favicon.ico misc robots.txt src
% ls /usr/local/Cellar/go/1.1.beta2/
bin

/usr/local/Cellar/go/1.1beta2/bin is empty and the executables are in /usr/local/Cellar/go/1.1.beta2/bin

EDIT: Actually, I get the bizarre directory structure with or without the cross-compile flag.

I just tried checking out this branch and building it locally, and I'm not getting that issue. Could it be an environment thing?

That's more likely. Ignore me. :)
