…revision history now contained within the document. The revision number system has been changed. The previous numbering scheme (1.0 and 2.0) has been abandoned. The new scheme (starting now with "0.3 draft + date of document") emphasizes the draft character of the current document. Editorial changes will be reflected only by a date change, content changes will increase the number right to the dot. The term "draft" will only be removed for formally accepted documents. The first formally accepted document (most likely after RFC2) will receive the revision number "1.0" (without draft). The standard document now includes a detailed description of the revision history.
