I build and run web apps end to end. Database, servers, deploys, and the screen someone actually taps on. Seven years of it so far, most of that on Laravel and React, lately with a lot of Expo and Electron mixed in.
I'm Sicangu Lakota, and the way I work comes from that. Patience with the problem, intention in what I ship, and respect for the person on the other side of the screen. Off the clock I'm at a coffee shop, gaming with my ten-year-old son, or in Ceremony.
- Building thelakotadev.com, my own platform and the home of Native StoryBooks
- The parts I enjoy most are the ones nobody sees: realtime systems, slow queries, self-managed infra, and a little ML
- Ask me anything. Making technology make sense is most of the job.

My platform, built the same way I build for clients. Laravel with Inertia and React 19 server-side rendering, realtime over Laravel Reverb, on a self-managed AWS EC2 box with Apache and automated TLS. It's also where Native StoryBooks lives, a community archive where people upload, geotag, and manage tribal stories on a map. |
The mobile app for Native StoryBooks. Expo SDK 57 with Expo Router, TanStack Query for server state, and Sanctum tokens in SecureStore. Everything goes through the Laravel API, nothing touches the database directly. Feed, story map with tappable pins, story composer with a drop-a-pin picker, comments and @mentions, notifications, and opt-in alerts when you travel within 30 miles of a story. |

A soundboard, mic mixer, voice changer, and replay buffer for Discord, game chat, streaming, and calls. Runs on Mac and Windows. No accounts, no uploads, no telemetry. Twenty-five voice presets, a lookahead limiter so overlapping sounds don't clip, a replay buffer that keeps the last three minutes of everything you hear, and an always-on-top overlay you can hit mid-game. Electron, Web Audio worklets, and a Playwright test suite that drives the real app. |

Earlier work
Founding engineer at Minnirva, April 2026 to now. I architected and built a five-app B2B SaaS platform: Scout, Focus, Lens, a self-service customer portal, and a central billing and provisioning control plane. That's 215,000+ lines of production code and 1,000+ automated tests. Each tenant gets its own EC2 and MariaDB environment behind a shared identity and billing hub, with SSO, passkeys and TOTP, Secrets Manager credentials, and least-privilege access. Scout is an AI prospecting engine that scores leads by consensus across Gemini, Claude, and OpenAI, finds them through Google Places, enriches contacts, runs overnight searches, drafts outreach, hands off to the CRM, and meters LLM cost per call. Lens turns plain English into SQL against SaaS and on-prem ERP data, with live schema introspection, layered read-only guards, saved reports, execution audits, and scheduled CSV delivery. I also built the AWS tenant lifecycle and Stripe billing, where a payment provisions EC2, schemas, users, secrets, and S3 backups, and webhooks are idempotent. Stack is Laravel 13, PHP 8.5, React 19, TypeScript, Inertia, Tailwind, Pest, MariaDB, Typesense, Bash, and AWS.
Senior full-stack developer and DevOps engineer at Interstate Advanced Materials, February 2023 to April 2026. I built and operated Laravel and React apps on AWS EC2, owning architecture, provisioning, CI/CD, monitoring, production support, code review, and mentoring. I developed the Focus CRM with SYSPRO ERP sync and realtime workflows, the OAuth2-protected Argos B2B ordering API, and DocuSign-based digital credit onboarding. A D&B-backed Python credit-assessment model and realtime rules engine cut manual credit review time by 80 percent.
Founder and full-stack developer at The Lakota Dev, January 2019 to now. Accessible websites and applications for Native organizations and small businesses, including the Native Stories storytelling platform.
Software engineer at 100Devs, October 2020 to February 2023. Responsive MERN apps from client discovery through deployment, in an agile team.
