Off the bat after just watching one video I got a bit annoyed that I couldn't make the video expand to the page size. Default size is just too small on my 38" monitor and jumping up to full screen seems too much
Allowing the left sidebar to collapse gives the video player room to expand on large screens without forcing users to engage fullscreen for a larger player
