Document the list of languages with syntax highlighting supported in Markdown

The Julia documentation for Markdown states that code blocks can optionally be given a language specifier to support syntax highlighting. This is very cool.

However, I could not find a list of the supported languages. I also tried looking through the source but couldn't find any leads. Could someone knowledgeable please add this list to the documentation?

The markdown parser doesn't care what the language tag is—all support is on the rendering side.

Could the renderer be documented then so we can work our way through the chain to see what is and isn't supported by looking at the renderer's documentation?

The built-in renderer is for the terminal and doesn't do any syntax highlighting, so it just ignores the language tag. There's no notion of a supported or unsupported language. They're all just printed as code.

@tedsteiner your question is specific to a renderer (e.g. the REPL, Jupyter, Documenter.jl, etc).

The REPL does not highlight syntax for any language. For other renderers, you should have a look at their documentation, and maybe open the same issue there.
