Is this completely safe to have - both input and output the same? I suppose it works fine for now, but just wondering if we should make that guarantee in the documentation (especially when more complex data types can be in use which may be mutated during the computation). |

It is a common existing usage pattern, so we won't break it (there's more support in broadcast for this with unalias, if we want to make it safer), but the submission repo was deleted, so Github cannot merge it anymore. |
