The Homebrew devs have [changed their stance on versioning](http://docs.brew.sh/Versions.html), and are now using `@X` suffixes to denote formulae pegged at version `X` within the main homebrew core repository.

The default brew downloads version 2.2.1, which has removed a certain
API, and tests fail. So this downloads the old version until the
    package migrates to support 2.2.1

  1. Apply changes from issue #51 for precompilations and warnings

    AndyGreenwell committed Feb 22, 2016
This commit applies the updates from issue #51 provided by @yuyichao for enabling pre-compilation and removing warnings for method redefinition, but makes all code changes to non-underscored files. The original order of loading files within __FILELIST.jl and GSL.jl is maintained by making edits to the include commands within __FILELIST.jl and removing entries from GSL.jl. Tests of pre-compilation and execution of runtests.jl were performed for Julia 0.4.3 and the current Julia 0.5.0-dev nightly build.

  1. Update multidimensional root finding example

    AndyGreenwell committed Feb 18, 2016
This commit updates the symbol :libgsl to be the string assigned to GSL.libgsl, and alsoprovides an example of how to load libgslcblas.so.0 on Linux. Loading this library properly needs to be addressed via BinDeps functionality within the GSL.jl package's build.jl file.
  2. Update Ptr/Ref and underscore/non-underscore for roots/multiroots and…

    AndyGreenwell committed Feb 18, 2016
    … min/multimin

This commit updates the use of Ptr vs Ref for input and output arguments both to various function wrappers and the ccall functions called within those wrappers for chapters 33-36 related to single dimensional and multidimensional root-finding and optimization. This commit also begins to address various method redefinitions that occur due to the original underscore vs. non-underscore versions of files, wherein the underscored version of a file was auto-generated from the original Python script and the non-underscored version of a file contains hand-edited corrections. This strategy will soon, in Julia v0.5, not be a viable approach due to the method redefinition it entails. In this commit, for chapters 33-36, the acutal use of underscored files has been eliminated as they are no longer being included. The originally auto-generated __FILELIST.jl file has been hand-edited to make use of the non-underscored files for chapters 33-36, and any previously created non-underscored files for these chapters that were being included within the GSL.jl file are no longer included within that file. With this package as it currently is designed, more and more of the autogenerated underscore files will be replaced with non-underscore files, and the underscored versions will no longer be included. The are still present for reference, but just not used. Longer term, these wrappers may be autogenerated using Clang.jl

  1. GSL error handler also now returns information from

    jiahao committed Feb 4, 2016
    GSL.

Occasionally the extra information from GSL is useful but cannot be
mapped precisely to an existing Julia exception without losing the
    information.

The current hacky solution is to simply print the GSLError object to
    STDERR using warn(show(GSLError)).

Should probably have a better solution in the future.
