Daytona is a Jabber bot that receives notification messages via HTTP and forwards them to Jabber. Daytona can be configured to route messages it receives to Jabber users or MUC rooms, depending on the message's properties. Daytona makes it easy to deliver messages to jabber from any service that speaks HTTP (commit messages from a SCM post-commit hook being just one example). = Build and run Daytona = Daytona uses maven for dependency management and building. You can obtain Maven from . == Build Daytona == cd to the directory with pom.xml in it. Then run: mvn build == Configure == See doc/daytona-config-example.cfg TODO == Run the Bot == Daytona is written in Java and requires an application server like tomcat or jetty to run. The deployment can be configured in src/main/webapp/WEB-INF/web.xml. The simplest way is to run it in a stand-alone Jetty: mvn jetty:run That's it. By default, the bot is now reachable via http://localhost:8080/daytona/notify You can test sending messages using curl : curl -X PUT -d @example.json http://localhost:8080/daytona/notify?format=json example.json is a file with the message to send, in JSON syntax. See doc/example.json for an example. http://maven.apache.org/ http://curl.haxx.se/ == Messages and Message Routing == A message is a set of key-value pairs. Daytona currently accepts messages in XML and JSON. [TODO ...] The (mandatory) string with the key 'text' is the text message sent via Jabber. All other propertiers can be used for filtering and routing purposes. TODO
