Instead of having to use up-and-down arrows to navigate to the desired option, perhaps pressing something like CTRL+4 would be nice. The option number is already displayed to the right. In particular, this would be awesome for relative automated actions such as opening the containing folder of a file:

  • Type and select filename
  • Press TAB two times
  • Press 5

Two related bonus-suggestions:

  • Only press TAB once on a file (not two) to get to the list of actions. Currently, the first tab does nothing of interest?
  • When a file is selected using TAB, allow for searching for actions. For example, type "prop" +ENTER to show a file's properties.

Not sure I understand your request since it is already possible to press Ctrl+# or Ctrl+Numpad# to execute the desired item/action. Does that mean it does not work for you?

Regarding single Tab, as long as there are actions associated to the selected item, you can always jump to the actions list by pressing Ctrl+Enter (see Keyboard Shortcuts). However since admittedly it makes little sense to have an args step for non-executable/script files, I will check if KP can easily apply some filtering (i.e. items are cataloged by plugins and KP itself is item-type agnostic). Please stick to one request per issue next time!

Great, the Ctrk+# and Ctrl+Enter were just what I needed! Maybe add it to http://keypirinha.com/keyboard.html?

Closing this issue since KP already supports what I asked for.
