Who is co-ordinating the v3 rewrite? May I suggest that we change the project name and group efforts somewhere obvious.

I am creating this pull request here as it's the only repository with other pull requests, I hope you don't mind.

Please add instructions strategy game plan a roadmap would be even better, to the README explaining what the plan is so that we all get on the same page while leaving pebbles for the next newcomers too. Agreed?
