This repository is checked-out in /home/Kozearch on the entrecote server. The files are owned by root, so you need to use sudo to run eg. git pull.Since root has no SSH key that can push to github, this git repositorywas cloned with a read-only git URL.However, makepkg complains when it is run as root. To avoid file permissionconflicts, we run makepkg as nobody. Everyone can "become" nobody with sudo, and built files are always owned by nobody. The package directories thusneed to be owned by nobody. The makepkg-as-nobody script makes this easier.Another problem is that makepkg creates binary packages in each package’sdirectory, but they need to be in the same directory to create a repository. The update-repository script creates symlinks to work-around this beforeupdating the repository database.TL;DR=====Changing source packages------------------------/home/Kozearch on entrecote is cloned with a read-only git URL.To make changes to the repository, work in another clone in your ownhome directory, push to github and run "sudo git pull" in /home/KozearchBuilding and updating---------------------1. Build a package: change to a package’s directory like /home/Kozearch/kozea-stuff and run ../makepkg-as-nobody2. Update the repository database: run /home/Kozearch/update-repository (from any directory)For both steps you may need to give your password for sudo.
