My name is Clinton Ngonyo, the founder and manager of Lamu holiday solutions. I started Lamu holiday solutions in 2009 to help the local business community promote there businesses online. At that time not every business could afford to create a website either because of the knowledge no how or because of finance. I took the initiative to build a website and showcase information about Lamu and have a listing of hotels and guest houses for tourists to book through. I started the business with "0" capital base because I was fresh from college. The business has generated income in a form of commissions as follow: Half of 2009 $ 1200, 2010: $ 5400, 2011: $ 10500, 2012: $ 4900, 2013: $ 7500, 2014: $ 2200. Business started doing bad in September 2011 which is after the abduction of the French woman in Manda Island and the collapse of major economies. Apart from insecurity, Lamu holiday solutions is facing stiff competition from major booking sites such as: www.booking.com, www.sleepout.com,and www.jovago.com among others.

Apart from selling holidays, Lamu holiday solutions was also meant to provide technology solutions to introduce efficiency to the Lamu business community. This has been difficult because the name is focused on tourism than software engineering. That is when I saw the need to create a sister business which would handle the technology gap. This is how Tag and Release was formed. Tag and Release means working with the gov't, organizations and Individual on a contract basis to either develop or implement solutions.

The arrival of the Lapsset project which is the largest infrastructure in Africa will bring new opportunities to Lamu and the whole of East Africa. There will be huge demand for technology services to help businesses and the gov't functions run efficiently. The county gov't as well is offering ICT tenders to third party registered businesses. That is another area Tag and Release can invest. The following are some of the activities which Tag and Release is interested to invest on:
