Layer Control, not working in IE7

The layer control is not working in IE7. Unfortunate we still need to support such a browser.

Symptoms:
The layer switcher box opens nicely on hover. But when selecting another basemap, the current basemap becomes disabled but no other basemap becomes enabled. Enabling another basemap after this action seems to become impossible.
