When I try to bold some of the community description text (the "Sidebar" input) using the bold button, it adds asterisks around the highlighted area, but does not actually bold the text once saved,

Yep verified this. Its working correctly on comments, but not on post bodies, site descriptions, or community descriptions. I'll investigate.
