Allow users enable notifications for a community so that they receive notifications when posts are made to it

Is your proposal related to a problem?

Currently, you only see a post made to a community when/if it pops up in your feed. This is enabled by subscribing to the community.

Describe the solution you'd like.

The user can click a toggle, like a bell, on the community page, they will receive direct post notifications for that community. Of course, in this repo, this issue would be specifying the backend support for it.

Describe alternatives you've considered.

I beileve reddit has this feature where you click the bell to receive full notifications for the community.

I think it's not the best solution to the problem, but still a great step ahead. Glad to see it being suggested and even worked on!

Ideally, I'd like to control how likely individual communities are to show up in my feed. I'm interested in a wide range of topics, but not equally so. For small niche communities, I'd like to be shown every single post. For others, I'm happy if all I see is the occasional hot post with lots of engagement.

For the time being, a bell toggle is probably an efficient compromise between goal and effort. Thank you!

Perhaps what you are describing is more inline with a rebalancing of the the underlying algorithm?

This seems to me pretty hard to do without machine learning and without making the current algorithm worse for the general use case.
I think the bell icon is a pretty neat way to find posts from very small communities, I also have one or two communities that I'd definitely enable this for.
