are you behind a proxy? If so, look at #22

same here for me on a fresh FreeBSD 9 (not behind a proxy)

here's the stacktrace:

does freebsd prefer ipv6?

Try this:

java -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -jar launcher.jar

Two thumbs up! This worked for me. Thanks! :-)

Maybe just a thought, but if it's possible you might check for chromium to launch as well. As far as I get it, there is only a chromium package available in FreeBSD (that won't mean, that it's impossible to install chrome as well ...) No real feature request, just a little thought :-)

Keep up the good work!

ouch !
Thank you for your answer, but I can't solve the problem whatever I try to do.

I am on a windows XP with Java 32 bits. Should I put the launcher.jar on a specific place ?
I have access to http://app.kodowa.com/latest-version , where I can read 0.0.8
My default browser is Chrome and I tried to lauch it with Mozilla as a default launcher too.

(sorry my english)

can't we manually pull the latest version so that it's local now, then the message wouldn't appear: "No local version found."

EDIT: ok got it, it will try to pull: https://s3.amazonaws.com/temp2.kodowa.com/playground/releases/0.1.7.zip
if http://app.kodowa.com/latest-version has 0.1.7 in it

this will be fixed in the next release where the local server goes away and you just have an executable :)

you just have an exe now!
