Hello, my name is Laudo Lukoki

Aspiring Hardware Engineer

I'm a Mechatronics Engineering student. I enjoy Cooking, Mixed Martial Arts, and Warhammer 40K.
But most of all, I enjoy making Electronics/IoT projects that can impact my life and those around me.

🙋🏿‍♂️ ABOUT ME

I was born in Luanda, Angola, and moved to Cuba with my family in 2012. There, I graduated in 2019 with an IB Diploma from the International School of Havana and also learned Spanish and English (my second and third languages, Portuguese being my first). 6 months later I found myself in Aachen, Germany, where I enrolled in an Intensive Language Course. Unfortunately, the COVID lockdown started 3 into my language course, which required the rest to be done online. I then Enrolled in the Rhein-Waal University of Applied Sciences, where I currently study Mechatronics Systems Engineering. I enjoy Hardware and MCU programming and wish to be able to pursue it professionally. I am part of my university's Robotics Club and eGoKart Team, where I not only gain technical experience but also teamwork and soft skills. Similarly, I have also joined Reddit and Discord communities dedicated to Embedded Systems. My goal is to be a multidimensional engineer, as my interests vary and span from making my Bicycle an IoT project to even C++ Game Design. Another goal of mine is to speak fluent German (I'm almost there).

🎛️ WHAT INSPIRED ME

One of my earliest inspirations was purchasing an Arduino Uno development kit with sensors. I was amazed at how many things can be done and made with just one board. I then started encountering boards that are capable of WiFi and Bluetooth and even bought custom boards. I was forever changed. Since then I have now finished around 10 personal projects and a few academic ones, all spanning topics from a board game about math to a robot car which I can see and control from my mobile phone. The biggest difference I recognize within myself since I started is that now I have a better idea of how little I truly know. Though ROS2, FPGAs, and RTOS are still new to me, I rejoice at the chance of learning something new. I want to learn and experience through making, and I believe I am in the right path.
