XPrivacy causing issues with JCIFS Samba connections #1737
Comments
It is unlikely that XPrivacy is causing this issue, unless you restricted the applications with XPrivacy. |
Else provide a logcat with XPrivacy debugging enabled. |
No restrictions were added using XPrivacy Logcat with XPrivacy debugging:
|
I am not seeing any XPrivacy problems or restrictions. |
With the XPrivacy module disabled in Xposed I can access the share properly (see initial post). |
Check the usage data for restrictions imposed (main menu), especially in system applications/components. |
Nothing in the usage log was restricted (although there are entries for Solid Explorer using permissions). I cleared the database and it still wouldn't connect. I should mention that all of this was done from a clean install where nothing had ever been restricted in the first place. |
My best guess this is a timing issue and if so, this cannot be fixed. |
Whenever the XPrivacy module is activated, Solid Explorer has issues connecting to Samba shares, saying
Cannot browse to "/[SHARE IP]". An unknown error occurred
.XPrivacy wasn't configured to block anything for Solid Explorer.
From the logcat, it seems the underlying SMB libary Solid Explorer uses, JCIFS is where the issue is, not in Solid Explorer itself.
I tested this by activating the module, rebooting, trying to access the share (failed), deactivating the module, rebooting, trying to access the share (success), activating, rebooting, accessing (failed again), deactivating, rebooting, then accessing (success).
It may be a coincidence, but I didn't do anything else between reboots and it's very consistent.
