This is my personal website powered by Jekyll and hosted on Github. This website uses the slightly modified version of the Hyde theme.

How to build Jekyll locally

This readme for building a Jekyll site locally is for my own convinience. Tested on Ubuntu 14.04 x64 running on VMWare.

Install Ruby with RVM

Install mpapis public key

gpg --keyserver hkp://keys.gnupg.net --recv-keys 409B6B1796C275462A1703113804BB82D39DC0E3

Install RVM stable with ruby

\curl -sSL https://get.rvm.io | bash -s stable --ruby

Run command as a login shell

Open terminal and go to Edit->Preferrence->Title and Command and check the Run command as a login shell option.

OR source the following script everytime:

`source /home/$USER/.rvm/scripts/rvm``

Install bundler

gem install bundler

Clone the source repo

Clone the repo in a convinient directory.

git clone https://github.com/MHassanNadeem/MHassanNadeem.github.io.git

Enter the repo

cd MHassanNadeem.github.io

Install jekyll

bundle install

Build and Start local server

bundle exec jekyll serve --watch --drafts

Navigate to http://localhost:4000 to see the site on the localhost.

Keep local Jekyll upto to date

bundle update

Push changes

git push origin master
