Limited Availability of CRP Data in ICU Patients within 24 Hours of Admission

We seek to identify C-reactive protein (CRP) measurements in ICU patients. In our analysis, we've specifically looked at CRP data, identified by the following item IDs: 227444, 220612, 51652, and 50889, across both labevents and chartevents datasets.

Our preliminary findings indicate that CRP data is available for only about 1.6% of ICU patients within the first 24 hours following their admission. This figure is unexpectedly low. Is there any reason for this? Or are we looking in the wrong places / with the wrong itemids? We base the missingness on the value column, as a numeric variable.

Any input, suggestions, or shared experiences regarding the tracking and availability of CRP measurements in ICU settings would be highly appreciated.
