Appfolders Management (GNOME extension)

A GNOME extension allowing easy management of "appfolders" directly from the applications view. As a bonus feature, it is possible to change the number of columns.

Current version

Features :

  • Create new appfolders

  • Delete appfolders

  • Rename appfolders (experimental)

  • Add applications to appfolders

  • Remove applications from appfolders

  • Add a category to a folder

  • Remove a category from a folder

(categories are defined by a freedesktop standard, see this section to learn more about additional categories available)

Installation

Install it from https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/1217/appfolders-manager/

Manual installation :

  • Download the .zip archive and extract files in ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/appfolders-manager@maestroschan.fr
  • Restart Gnome Shell.
  • Activate the extension.

Future versions

  • Exclude apps from a folder
  • Drag and drop (I hope)
