I have a v1.0 mobo with an XboxHD+ freshly installed. I'm using the M8+ BIOS with the latest kernel patch and HD+ App installed. Whether I have the HD+ App set audio to "Compatibility" or "Auto", I cannot get 5.1 audio to work. I am only getting stereo audio in game and in dashboard.

If I use the same BIOS without the HD+ kernel patch, I can set the audio in the dashboard and it saves my settings and plays 5.1 audio in game.

@Nomar383 Just a heads up/warning. Commentary, anything that doesn't contribute to the issue, will be removed.

The issue is being looked into. There's currently no ETA on a fix.
