GEOSOffsetCurve_r cannot accept polygons just lines. We should either convert the geometries to lines before calling GEOS or ignore the error provided by geos and fall back to the original approach.

Ingnoring GEOS errors was added, still need to convert geometries to linestrings before calling GEOS
