Some students would like to submit all their files in a tarball.

We've discussed this issue at some point. The most apparent problem might be that we need to untar/unzip server side and once that's done analyze the content for submitted files (in terms of required files to submit). It's probably doable but what if a student submits a tarball with a subfolder in it, or several subfolders. All of a sudden you'd have to think of a lot of different cases...
