On many slices, the top two layer infill goes the same direction. Can't say it's every slice since Matt was able to show me one where it doesn't do that, but it is very common.

Maybe related to #1558

There is a user on the forum reporting the same issue.

I believe Lars' argument was that it looks better when all the top layers in different regions go the same direction. Personally, I don't think it makes any difference aesthetically. It also prevents gaps in the top from being filled as well and requires you to use more top layers to get a solid surface.
