From Sam Kelly: A couple of times "website" is used (pages 502 and 509), while most times "web site" is used (xvii, xviii, 20, 27, 57, 384, 391, 424, 430, 433, 441, 466, 468, 474, 484, and 510).

Even the professionally edited first edition wasn't 100% consistent but leaned strongly toward "web site" except in the separately produced index. However, it seems that the passage of time has changed what is normal. (For example, the AP style guide has changed to "website".) I doubt today the copyeditor would make the same choice. Thus, rather than the less frequent change of "website" to "web site", it would be better to make the more frequent change of "web site" to "website".
