I have a console app which uses ITaskbarList3 to report progress to the taskbar and it works if started in normal console. Is there something I can do to make ConEmu show the progress on the taskbar if this tab is the current tab (or always)?

It is to complicated to hook ITaskbarList3 interface and it doesn't worth the time.
Just show your progress in the console window title and ConEmu will catch it automatically. E.g [95%] Your cool application title.

You mean output it in the console as a text containing percent in square brackets?

I mean console title. Example for cmd.exe prompt:

for /L %i in (0,5,100) do @(title [%i%] your title & timeout /t 1) > nul

Well, you may output your progress in the console, and ConEmu will catch it too.

Nice. Do you process paused and error states, i.e. [Error] or [Paused]?
