Has there been any work towards this?

Hello i have the same issue.
Is it possible to enable scrolling with the mousewheel during text selection with the mouse?

Also having the same issue. I could have sworn it used to be faster. Using ConEmu 180528 with Git Bash SSH'd into a Pi.

Hi!
The same problem!
If it's local output i can use pipeline with clip.exe as solution, but no solutions if it's remote session ( ssh or telnet ) with big output.
Please, help!

You may copy all console contents at once via menu.

Maximus5,
First of all, i want to say thank you for your work. ConEmu is really best shell wrapper.
Sometimes i need copy not all, but big part of output from remote session. New tab (and new session) for copy some output, i think, is not good idea.

I think it would more handy to start selection with mouse and expand selected area with hotkeys (e.g. Shift+PgDn or even Ctrl+Shift+End)

I like that idea @Maximus5.

Right now those hotkey combos don't work with the current implementation (they result in no change of the selection).

At best you can currently do Shift+(Up / Down) arrows and this select lines about 100x faster than the mouse, but still takes a while if you want to select something like 150 lines of text.

Do this hotkey will compatible with "Reset selection on Left Button release" option in Mark/Copy section?
Can you do this as "Lmouse button pressed"+PgDn?

Update: I've removed my comment about shift-up/down not letting you get the full width of the page. I now understand that if you start the selection with the mouse (as Maximus5 suggested) you can start anywhere on the screen.

Older versions of ConEmu would let you "copy and scroll" quickly so I'm still hoping that we can get that back.

You can start either rectangular or streaming selection. Obviously it depends on tge direction you drag mouse for selection start or arrow keys pressed.

I have the same issue and it's primary thing preventing me from using ConEmu as my every day terminal emulator. I've up voted the initial report from @elijahgagne and I wonder if a fix will come in an upcoming release?

Also in case anyone is wondering, Shift + Ctrl + Up / Down also works to select many lines of text once you've started your selection with the mouse.

@nickjj that does work, but I still think the original report in this issue is valid. It seems like the mouse selection could (should?) be faster. This slowness doesn't exist in other Windows terminal emulators (PuTTY, cmd.exe, SecureCRT, etc.) so why not try to improve the mouse experience?

Still unclear to me if this is a technical limitation or would require significant code changes to resolve. Maybe @Maximus5 can comment.

I found a workaround that works for me. Hold shift down and single click the start of the text you want highlighted. Now, while still holding down shift, scroll down (using the mouse scroll button), and single click the end of the text you want highlighted. The key is to not click and DRAG the mouse.

I just stumbled upon this issue. This behavior doesn't fit to my common way to copy from ConEmu (delete selection and auto copy on Mouse release) - it's unpractical to have to use any buttons in with these settings and copy the whole console log if you only need a few lines is also not useful :(
I'd prefer to get this behavior fixed.
