Whenever I minimize any other windows (Chrome, Notepad++) with ConEmu already minimized, ConEmu is restored/maximized. I can't see any key hooks that would cause this. Am I missing a configuration setting?

This seems to only be happening with the Quake mode hotkey enabled. When I disable it, ConEmu is not affected by other windows being minimized.

ConEmu do not do that. Probably done third party software if even Windows itself is responsible for that.
Without your config and/or log files I can't say more.

I have the same issue on Win 7 64-bit since as long as I can remember.
Notably, it occurs when minimizing with "Quake style slide down" shortcut. I uploaded two variants of logs with settings.xml.

First (conemu-bug) was produced like this:

  1. Open explorer window
  2. Run Conemu with -log parameter: conemu slides from top with cmd, takes focus;
  3. Press minimize shortcut: conemu slides back up, removes focus;
  4. Click minimize button on explorer window that was opened before: explorer minimizes (I have disabled windows minimize animations), conemu slides from top, takes focus;
  5. Restore explorer again from task bar (did it to copy conemu logs).

Second log describes situation where the bug does not occur (conemu does not restore automatically).
It (conemu-normal) was produced like this:

  1. Open explorer window;
  2. Run Conemu with -log parameter: conemu slides from top with cmd, takes focus;
  3. Click on Conemu icon on the task bar: conemu slides back up, removes focus;
  4. Click minimize button on explorer window that was opened before;
    explorer minimizes
    : nothing visible happens, conemu does not slide down from top.

I've been using ConEmu for about a week and this issue has been driving me a bit nuts (Windows 10 x64). I can't see anything in settings that could cause this. At the end of the day, I tend to close or minimize all my programs to show just the desktop - and invariably ConEmu suddenly slides down without being called.

Does anyone know any workaround for this? Maybe some change in settings helps?

I don't see problems with ConEmu build 180626 started as ConEmu64.exe -basic -quake -run cmd.exe.

I updated to ConEmu 180626, Windows 10 1803.

This is a really bizarre issue. Not been able to reproduce with the -basic flag, but then I can only get it to happen sporadically when ConEmu is launched normally. Something like 1 time out of 10, minimizing/closing all windows causes it, but I can't get it to trigger every time.

If I figure out how to reproduce reliably I will update.

Here it is in action.

Few hints... It may depends on:

  • representation of ConEmu on TaskBar
  • Z-order - after minimization all other applications Windows tries to set focus in ConEmu in some cases

That's a good point, I did hide the button from my taskbar. I wonder if others with this issue have done the same?

I've just tested on my PC (Win10 Pro x64 build 1803) and I cannot reproduce the issue. I followed the procedure described by @madispe. I'm using the 64-bit version of ConEmu.

I'll post back if I see the issue occur again. This is a different PC than the one I originally reported the issue on so it's hard to know whether something changed in ConEmu, Win10, or something else.
