When Shift is pressed in FAR's panels or FAR's viewer, the functional key bar (at the bottom of FAR's window) blinks each second or so. Can this blinking be disabled?
If right Shift button is pressed, then the stupid window "Do you want to turn on Filter Keys?" appears after 8 seconds. Can it be turned off at the application level of ConEmu as well?

Now, the biggest issue. While pressing Shift in FAR's editor, the behavior of the functional key bar (at the bottom of FAR's window) is completely wrong! The expected behavior: the functional key bar should reflect the fact that the Shift is pressed and show different key titles. Actual behavior: the key titles are not changed at all, plus they blink each second or so.

Why do your think your question relates to ConEmu?

First would be addressed to Far team (gave you checked it in RealConsole?)

Second is your Windows configuration!

Because it happens exclusively under ConEmu!
In pure FAR, without ConEmu, everything is clear in FAR: no blinking of the functional key bar, and the reaction to Shift is as expected (the key titles are changed).

FAR2 and FAR3 in their real console windows do not have these problems at all.
Whereas both FAR2 and FAR3 have it under ConEmu.

Oh, just tried "far /p" and there is no issue under ConEmu.
So it looks like ConEmu confronts with some of FAR's plugin(s).
Will investigate which one it is.

Funny to say it, but the guilty one is the ConEmu plugin!!!
With the ConEmu folder alone under the FAR's plugins folder, the issue exists.
With all the other plugins except the ConEmu folder under the FAR's plugins folder, the issue does not exist.
If I keep only FAR\plugins\ConEmu\ConEmu.dll under the FAR\plugins folder, the issue exists.

  • tested with FAR 2.1 build 1807 bis29 x86 under ConEmu 150913 [32] with both default and custom settings of ConEmu.

After further investigations it looks like I was wrong about FAR3 - I can't reproduce the issue with FAR3.
However, with FAR 2.1 it's constant. I've verified it under Windows 7 32-bit, Windows 7 64-bit and Windows 8.1 64-bit on different PCs.

@d0vgan d0vgan changed the title from Shift issue in FAR (especially in FAR's editor) to Shift issue in FAR 2.1 (especially in FAR's editor) under ConEmu Oct 1, 2015

Sorry, could you comment: can it be fixed or not? Or you could not reproduce it?

Well, removing the file "FAR2\plugins\ConEmu\ConEmu.dll" seems to be the only fix for this problem. Which is not great, though, because it leads to loosing the ability of drag'n'drop from/to FAR2 panels :(

Great, it works! (Looked at the source code changes - it was a surprise that a plugin calls a macro! Seems to be deeply integrated with FAR.)
Do I understand correctly that another minor blinking issue can't be fixed so easy? I'm referring to the one described in the very first post:
"When Shift is pressed in FAR's panels, the functional key bar (at the bottom of FAR's window) blinks each second or so. Can this blinking be disabled?"
Thank you!

I do not observe blinking in panels. Anyway, as I've said, this is a bug of Far 2.x.

OK, the main issue is solved so I think it's resolved.
