ConEmu64 version preview 151006 x64
Windows 7 x64

When the setting "Inject ConEmuHk" is enabled (under Settings/Features), the TKinter dropdown control in Python doesn't work correctly. Specifically, it only flashes briefly, sometimes barely visibly. It makes the control unusable. When I disable that setting or use a PowerShell without ConEmu, the problem goes away. There's test code inline since github doesn't like .py attachments.

To recreate:

  1. Start a shell using ConEmu
  2. python test_tk.py
  3. Click the dropdown. You should see four items (apples, apples, bananas, grapes).

I'm using Python 2, specifically the Anaconda distribution. It's not possible for me to test with other Pythons.

The demo is a little messy and has a bunch of other controls on it that are not relevant. Sorry about that.

Thank you for a very useful tool!

Here's test_tk.py:

from Tkinter import *

root = Tk()
root.title("Feet to Meters")

mainframe = Frame(root)
mainframe.grid(column=0, row=0, sticky=(N, W, E, S))
mainframe.columnconfigure(0, weight=1)
mainframe.rowconfigure(0, weight=1)

feet = StringVar()
meters = StringVar()

items = ('apples', 'bananas', 'grapes')

feet_entry = OptionMenu(mainframe, None, 'apples', *items)
feet_entry.grid(column=2, row=1, sticky=(W, E))
Label(mainframe, textvariable=meters).grid(column=2, row=2, sticky=(W, E))
Button(mainframe, text="Calculate", highlightthickness=4,
       highlightbackground='red').grid(column=3, row=3, sticky=W)

Label(mainframe, text="feet").grid(column=3, row=1, sticky=W)
Label(mainframe, text="is equivalent to").grid(column=1, row=2, sticky=E)
Label(mainframe, text="meters").grid(column=3, row=2, sticky=W)

for child in mainframe.winfo_children():
    child.grid_configure(padx=5, pady=5)

feet_entry.focus()

root.mainloop()
