Cursor text selection start moves to the right when trying to select single line #587

ConEmu version: 160313 [64]

This happens when trying to select text along a single line and I accidentally/temporarily move the selection space across multiple lines before correcting.

This is best explained by watching it happen. Note the left-edge of the selection space move a character to the right each time the selection leaves the current line and returns:

A coworker with 150319 [64] can't reproduce this behavior. Perhaps that's helpful in case this is some kind of regression.

happens here too with 160313 [32] and (at least) the previous build as well

Looks to me (yes, I can duplicate as demonstrated in youtube video) like you need two things:

  • change direction of the selection in a vertical way (from here towards the end of the file vs. from here towards the beginning of the file)
  • keep the mouse to the left or to the right of the selection

If you keep your mouse to the left of the origination point of the selection, and flip up and down, the origination point moves left.
