Originally reported on Google Code with ID 1042

It would be very convenient if focus return to the window which was opened before calling
ConEmu window.
 For example:
 - i work with some text-processing program;
 - i call ConEmu (show console on desktop) for some actions;
 - i close ConEmu (hide it) and without any mouse or "alt+tab" actions (for set focus
on my text-processing program) continue work.
Advantages: less useless actions in work.

How exactly you show/hide ConEmu?
At the first look, this is your OS responsibility, nothing to do with ConEmu...

I use it in Windows 7 (x64) as Quake-style console (+single application mode). For
show/hide I use shortcuts: show - 'Ctrl+~', hide - 'Esc'.

This worked a few builds ago, now; if you don't have the Quake-style enabled the focus
shifts as expected but with quake style the focus does not return to the window I am
working on before i called conemu.

With quake-style on, auto minimize to TSA. when I ctrl+# to minimize conemu, it retains
focus and i can still type into the hidden console.

Without auto minimize to TSA focuses still isn't returned to my last window but i can't
type in the console either.

I can't see how this is expected behaviour.

What application you are running in ConEmu?
What application has focus before quake activation? Does it reproduced with notepad
for example?
Also, attach your ConEmu configuration.

ConEmu has powershell in it but just tried with cmd.exe and no change (as expected really)

Any application seems to do the same but I specifically tried chrome, sublime text
2 and everyones favorite, notepad.

Steps:

Have conemu running a console, eg powershell.
open notepad, type "1"
ctrl+# quake in conEmu, type "2"
ctrl+# quake out conEmu, type "3"

expect: the numbers 1 and 3 in notepad and number 2 sitting on the powershell REPL.
got: Number 1 in notepad with 2 and 3 on the REPL 1

Note on attached file: it has the ubuntu console font set that I have installed on
my system and Segoe UI (default in win 8) set for the title bar, just in case you get
a font issue.

I have the same logic with notepad++ and ConEmu which execute cmd.exe:
 - open notepad++, type "1"
 - ctrl+~ (show ConEmu), type "2"
 - ctrl+~ (hide ConEmu), type "3"
Expect: numbers 1 and 3 in notepad++ and number 2 in ConEmu console.
Got: number 1 in notepad++ and numbers 2 and 3 in console.

If you turn off quake mode and un-tick "Auto minimise to TSA" in main/task bar it seems
to behave. Lose the nice fade transition though :( and the slide down obviously for
quake.

I have the same issue. I really like Quake mode, but re-focusing the window that was
is focus when ConEmu was restored is way more desirable. When hiding ConEmu have I
tried multiple times to accidentialy close an active ConEmu tab that was doing some
work, ending the task, which is a very undesired behaviour.

Ok:)

My repro:

1. Start ConEmu64.exe /log (from cmd) (
2. Conemu starts putty login
3. I type something in putty
4. Ctrl-Ø to hide ConEmu
5. Focus is not given to cmd!

6. Switch to firefox and scroll using arrow keys
7. Ctrl-Ø to show ConEmu (typing/focus works ok)
8. Ctrl-Ø to hide ConEmu, Firefox is _not_ given focus, arrow keys do not scroll.

Same stuff here. 140814 [64], Quake-style is disabled.

When Autominimize to TSA is disabled, focus behaves as expected.
If I turn Autominimize to TSA on, focus is set to console and never returned.

Not a big deal, since the only thing the tick gives you is a smooth transition.
