Originally reported on Google Code with ID 153

В сборке 100111 добавлена новая фича: цветом фона можно управлять
жирностью/курсивностью шрифта.

Предлагается потестить и предложить текст описания фичи и параметров. Я
толком ничего не придумал.

включается через реестр:
"ExtendFonts"=hex:01
"ExtendFontNormalIdx"=hex:01
"ExtendFontBoldIdx"=hex:0E
"ExtendFontItalicIdx"=hex:0D

Hi, could you explain how one can echo codes that turn the text bold/italic? If I understood
this correctly, it's like SGR (Select Graphic Rendition) parameters, right? But how
can one do this? If I use echo -e "\033[1m" I only get brighter text.

Ah! Didn't see that, sorry.

Just asking... would it be possible for it to support making text e.g., bold on "ESC[1m"?
Instead of having to resort to such workarounds. I figure if you didn't do this, you
must have a reason, so I didn't open a bug, but it would be magnificient to have support
for cross-platform scripts that don't need special checks to output bold on ConEmu
specifically (and having to configure ConEmu for these scripts)

ConEmu is a Windows console. Windows supports 16 colors. ANSI defines only 8. And it
is general practice to use intense instead of bold/italic.
However, request about using font styles instead of intense already exists.

I see, thanks for clearing that up.

But what about italic? couldn't "ESC[3m" make text italic?

Sorry if those questions are stupid, and thanks for the attention.

The problem is the WinApi console does not support attributes bold/italic/underlined.
That mean ConEmu needs to do some hacks to be able to process such ANSI sequences.
The answer - not now, may be in future.

Thanks for your answer. I'd really like this feature, but I'm aware it's probably more
difficult to implement than it seems.

Sorry not being able to actually help with it! And cheers. You Russian coders are indeed
something.
