This is my early attempts at creating a platformer that nicely handles slopes.  I have tried to adapt some of the ideas of implementation from the descriptions given here:
http://info.sonicretro.org/Sonic_Physics_Guide

Eventually I also want to allow for moving platformers and hopefully dynamic obstacles.
