I'm trying to run https://github.com/juanfranblanco/vscode-solidityo debug mode and facing following issue. Runing vscode-solidity on VSCode version <=1.30 works fine.

  • VSCode Version: 1.32.1
  • OS Version: Ubuntu 18.04

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open a project https://github.com/juanfranblanco/vscode-solidity
  2. Hit F5
  3. New window shows up and suddenly crashes

Any error or logs why vscode crashes would be appreciated.

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

What debugger are you using?

I’m trying to add (contribute) some improvements to vsvode-solidity extension, but when I launch debugger it crashes. Same debugger which is documented in official api doc (write an extension, press F5, etc.). I can successfully launch debugger with this extension on vscode 1.30.x but >= 1.31.x crashes. As and user of vscode editor I expected an application not to crash or at least throw an error or write it in a log file somewhere. But vscode silently crashes without any error.

So when debugging an extension the whole VS Code crashes or only the new window?

  • Please open the chrome dev tools with the VS Code command "Toggle Developer Tools" and then switch to the console.
  • press F5

Anything interesting on the console?
