The current implementation of port forwarding only supports the http(s) protocol. Please expand this to support additional protocols, like WS.

Do you have any ETA on this? Since a lot of modern JS-frameworks (like nextjs and gatsbyjs) are heavily relying on web sockets, I'm unable to productively work on most of my web-based projects.

Just to add a specific use case:

  1. Create an environment
  2. Opent a terminal
  3. yarn global add gatsby
  4. gatsby new blog gatsbyjs/gatsby-starter-blog
  5. cd blog && gatsby develop

Port 8000 gets forwarded automatically, but when visiting the URL of the forwarded port, nothing works due to the dependence on web sockets of Gatsby's dev server.

@lostintangent Per #212 one of the use cases that would be useful for UDP is developing game servers. The team I'm on has this use case and I think we could quickly get a dev environment up and running for our junior devs/people less familiar with linux if UDP port forwarding was supported.
