Get-VMBios

SYNOPSIS

Gets the BIOS of a virtual machine or snapshot.

SYNTAX

VMName (Default)

Get-VMBios [-CimSession <CimSession[]>] [-ComputerName <String[]>] [-Credential <PSCredential[]>]
 [-VMName] <String[]> [<CommonParameters>]

VMObject

Get-VMBios [-VM] <VirtualMachine[]> [<CommonParameters>]

VMSnapshot

Get-VMBios [-VMSnapshot] <VMSnapshot> [<CommonParameters>]

DESCRIPTION

The Get-VMBios cmdlet gets the BIOS of a virtual machine or snapshot. Note: This cmdlet does not operate with Generation 2 virtual machine. If attempted, the cmdlet throws an error.

EXAMPLES

Example 1

PS C:\> Get-VMBios TestVM

Gets the BIOS object for virtual machine TestVM.

PARAMETERS

-CimSession

Runs the cmdlet in a remote session or on a remote computer. Enter a computer name or a session object, such as the output of a New-CimSession or Get-CimSession cmdlet. The default is the current session on the local computer.

-ComputerName

Specifies one or more Hyper-V hosts on which the BIOS of a virtual machine or snapshot is to be retrieved. NetBIOS names, IP addresses, and fully qualified domain names are allowable. The default is the local computer. Use localhost or a dot (.) to specify the local computer explicitly.
