hotlist: fast filter #1636
Comments
Hello, I totally agree with iNode's request, it would be very nice to have a filter with fuzzy searching algorythm or any other. |
Thanks to developers for the mc. It is my favorite for a long time.
Related this issue: Maybe something simpler can be implemented like in TotalCommander, you can assign letter to choose a directory from hotlist:
Now as I know mc only support hotkeys from 1-9, but it is not easy to remember item position. With & users can choose any letter they want and it is enough, I do not have more that 20 entries in directory hotlist. |

Posted 3 years ago...Is there anything going on with ticket? |
This would be a really nice feature to have. Sadly there hasn't been much activity around this issue.
+1 from me |
+ it is very inconvenient |

(@vitaliel)To navigate over a big list of hotlist items we should add fast filter.
Filter should work for label and for directory path.
It should be non strict, i.e.:
"ftp" should item that contents "ftp" substring in label or path.
Filter should work only for current group.
p.s. this ticket is similar to #405 (panel related).
p.p.s. Filter will be called by C-s/M-s (or key which will be used in #405, for consistency).
